Printed texture guided color feature fusion for impressionism style rendering of oil paintings.

    Get PDF
As a major branch of Non-Photorealistic Rendering (NPR), image stylization mainly uses computer algorithms to render a photo into an artistic painting. Recent work has shown that the ex-traction of style information such as stroke texture and color of the target style image is the key to image stylization. Given its stroke texture and color characteristics, a new stroke rendering method is proposed. By fully considering the tonal characteristics and the representative color of the original oil painting, it can fit the tone of the original oil painting image into a stylized image whilst keeping the artist's creative effect. The experiments have validated the efficacy of the proposed model in comparison to three state-of-the-arts. This method would be more suitable for the works of pointillism painters with a relatively uniform style, especially for natural scenes, otherwise, the results can be less satisfactory

A Decoupling Control Strategy for Multilayer Register System in Printed Electronic Equipment

Register accuracy is an important index to evaluate the quality of electronic products printed by gravure printed electronic equipment. However, the complex relationships of multilayer register system make the problem of decoupling control difficult to be solved, which has limited the improvement of register accuracy for the gravure printed electronic equipment. Therefore, this paper presents an integrated decoupling control strategy based on feedforward control and active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) to solve the strong coupling, strong interference, and time-delay problems of multilayer register system. First of all, a coupling and nonlinear model is established according to the multilayer register working principle in gravure printing, and then a linear model of the register system is derived based on the perturbation method. Secondly, according to the linear model, a decoupling control strategy is designed based on feedforward control and ADRC for the multilayer register system. Finally, the results of computer simulation show that the proposed control methodology can realize a decoupling control and has good control performance for multilayer register system

Oxidative Stress and Genotoxicity of Long-Term Occupational Exposure to Low Levels of BTEX in Gas Station Workers

Atmospheric benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX) can lead to multiple health injuries. However, what remains uncertain is the effect of long-term exposure to low levels of BTEX. Thus, we determined the BTEX levels in the air from the refueling and office areas in gas stations. Then we collected workersā€™ (200 refueling vs. 52 office workers) peripheral blood samples to analyze the serum total-superoxide dismutase (T-SOD), glutathione (GSH), malondialdehyde (MDA), and 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) levels. DNA damage was analyzed by the comet assay and micronucleus test in buccal epithelial cells. We found that the levels of BTEX in refueling areas were significantly higher than those in office areas (p < 0.001). The serum T-SOD and GSH of refueling workers were significantly lower than those in office workers (p < 0.001). By contrast, the serum MDA and 8-OHdG of refueling workers were significantly higher than those of office workers (p < 0.001, MDA; p = 0.025, 8-OHdG). Furthermore, tail and Olive tail moments in refueling workers were longer (p = 0.004, tail moment; p = 0.001, Olive tail moment), and the micronucleus rate was higher (p < 0.001) than those in office workers. Taken together, long-term exposure to low levels of BTEX may reduce the antioxidant ability and increase the risk of DNA damage in refueling workers of gas stations

Pathway analysis of the differentially expressed genes.

<p>(A) Significant pathways of up-regulated genes. (B) Significant pathways of down-regulated genes. Pathway analysis is a functional analysis that maps genes to Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathways (<a href="http://www.genome.jp/kegg/" target="_blank">http://www.genome.jp/kegg/</a>). The p-value (Fisher p-value) denotes the significance of the pathway correlated with the conditions. The pathways are considered statistically significant at p < 0.05. 1, L/C; 2, M/C; 3, H/C.</p

Gene ontology (GO) enrichment analysis for differentially expressed genes.

    No full text
<p>GO analysis provides a controlled vocabulary to describe differentially expressed transcript attributes in all organisms. The ontology covers three domains: biological process (BP), cellular component (CC), and molecular function (MF). The p-value denotes the significance of GO term enrichment in the DE genes. GO terms are considered statistically significant at p ā‰¤ 0.05. 1, L/C; 2, M/C; 3, H/C.</p

<p>(A) Scatter plots showing the variations in lncRNA expression between two groups (1, L/C; 2, M/C; 3, H/C). A scatter plot is a visualization method used to assess the variation (or reproducibility) between chips. The values of the X and Y axes are the averaged normalized signal values of groups of samples (X: log2 scaled; and Y: āˆ’log10 scaled). The green lines are fold change lines (FC = 2). The color of the points indicates the intensities from low (blue) to high (red). The lncRNAs above the top green line and below the bottom green line indicate 2 FC between two groups of samples. (B) Volcano plots of the differentially expressed lncRNAs (1, L/C; 2, M/C; 3, H/C). A volcano plot is a useful tool for visualizing differential expression between two different conditions. The vertical lines correspond to twofold up and down, and the horizontal line represents a p-value of 0.05. The red point in the plot represents the differentially expressed lncRNAs with statistical significance.</p

Heat map and hierarchical clustering of (A) lncRNA and (B) mRNA differential expression profiles between Mn-treated and control groups in 12 hippocampal neurons samples.

<p>Hierarchical clustering is a simple and commonly used clustering technique to analyze gene expression data. Cluster analysis arranges samples into groups on the basis of their expression levels, allowing us to hypothesize the relationships among samples. The dendrogram shows the relationships among the expression levels of samples. ā€œRedā€ indicates high relative expression, whereas ā€œGreenā€ indicates low relative expression. Ctrl: untreated control group. L: low Mn-exposed group. M: intermediate Mn-exposed group. H: high-Mn-exposed group.</p

Comparison between gene chip data and qRT-PCR result.

<p>(A) Three lncRNAs (UC.105-, MRuc009dte, and BC090328) and (B) four mRNAs (Caspase 4, Picalm, Foxo3, and Pde8a) in 12 hippocampal neuron samples were validated through qRT-PCR. The heights of the columns in the chart represent fold changes. The validation results enunciate that the microarray data are consistent with the qRT-PCR results (1, L/C; 2, M/C; 3, H/C).</p
